Kate Middleton's 2002 see-through dress to go under the hammer

Kate Middleton's see-through dress that she wore as part of a university fashion show in 2002 is set to go under the hammer next month.

Her catwalk debut reportedly marked the first time her husband-to-be Prince William first saw the attractive brunette, reports Contactmusic.

Middleton wore the Charlotte Todd knitted slip at a St. Andrews University charity fashion show.

Todd, who now works in an aquarium, has kept the outfit ever since it was returned to her.

The dress will be sold at a Kerry Taylor Auctions sale in March (2011).

"It's definitely a showstopping dress. I'd like to think I played my part in history and in fashion history," Todd said.

Prince William's fiancee, Kate Middleton, has made her biggest decision since accepting Prince William's marriage proposal. The future princess has picked the designer who will make her wedding dress. However... it's not known to the public who will design Middleton's dress.

The creative team at KK Outlet in London were so uninspired by the official merchandise that they came up with some alternative designs to celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29, 2011.

Wills and Kate Announce Royal Wedding Date | Video

Right before Americans started Thanksgiving Holiday, Prince William and Kate Middleton announced the date and venue of their wedding next year.

They will be married on Friday, April 29, at Westminster Abbey.

The date is the Feast of St Catherine.

The Cabinet agreed this morning that the day will be a public holiday.

A senior royal aide said the couple chose the Abbey because of its royal history. The bells there began to peal following the announcement at noon.~source
